-

Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Julie Ramona Tjalas is a filmmaker and ASU Film and Media Production Major. She's directed 6 short films and a 7 episode web series based on the video game franchise, Fallout (which she also produced). Ms.Tjalas has also produced 9 projects within the past 2 years. She's also been on the Dean's List with a GPA above 3.5 for the past 5 semesters.

Julie Tjalas is also a big advocate for diverse representation in film and a huge advocate for the LGBTQ community. She is president of ASU's TransFam, a social and support club for transgender students at ASU. Much of her work has to do with the empowerment of women and giving a voice to those left out of the celluloid conversation.

Growing up bisexual, transgender, and closeted in a Jehovah's Witness household, she never got to see people like her on screen, and she wants to change that for future generations.
