Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Julie Ramona Tjalas is a dedicated self-starter, nominated Outstanding Graduating Student for the film school at Arizona State University. In her time at ASU, she directed 7 short films and a 7 episode web series (which she also produced) based on the video game franchise, Fallout. On top of that's she's edited dozens of videos for the ShoesUntied Productions YouTube channel, ASU's Tempe Late Night, ASU Theatre Shakespeare Club, and The Colin Higgins Foundation. She's also been on the Dean's List with a GPA above 3.5 for the past 6 semesters.
Julie Tjalas is also a big advocate for diverse representation in film and a huge advocate for the LGBTQ community. She is the former president of ASU's TransFam, a social and support club for transgender students at ASU. Much of her work has to do with the empowerment of women and giving a voice to those left out of the celluloid conversation.
